It is celebrated on July 1st unless that date is a Sunday in which case it is celebrated the day after. 4Independence Day ![]()
Southampton Independence Day Parade, Parade begins at John Ducks' Restaurant, to Main Street Souampton, then down Job's Lane to the Reviewing Stand by Agawam Park, and ends on Windmill Lane. Come hear Sag Harbor's Own Sag Harbor Community Band perform at this July 4th Parade in Southampton. The Band performs at the Reviewing Stand, directly in front of Agawam Park, beginning at 9:00am. Parade is organized and presented by the Southampton Village Coalition on Patriotic Veterans Events.

Fighting Chance's Summer Gala '08 to be held at the Tennis House of the Maidstone Club in East Hampton, starting at 6:30pm. This spectacular evening includes piano players extraordinaire and a silent auction. Tickets are $1,500, $800, or $400 per person. JulyJuly 5 (Saturday), Sag Harbor Fireworks, sponsored by the Sag Harbor Yacht Club, off the Breakwater at dusk. Admission to the Yacht Club is for Members & Invited Guests Only, however the fireworks are viewable by the Public from Marine Park, Waterfront Areas, Havens Beach, and from the Harbor itself, if you are in your boat. Join the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce as they sell glow sticks, glow bracelets and bottled water as a fundraiser, and the Ladies Village Improvement Society will be on Long Wharf selling homemade baked goods and cold drinks. Hours of operation will be between 9am and 12 noon.
Sag Harbor Chamber's Tourist Information Center is now open at the Windmill on Long Wharf. Hours are daily from 10-4, weather permitting. Pick up useful literature about Sag Harbor and the Chamber, chat with our delightful staff, and perhaps buy a T-Shirt, Mug, or Key Chain to remind you about the wonderful time you had in Sag Harbor! Open Daily until Labor Day, then weekends through Columbus Day.

Y.A.R.D.'s Safe Summer Beach Program, for teens age 12-18, to get together and socialize in a drug and alcohol free youth area. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night from 8pm-11pm through August 31st. There will be music, sports, contests, ice cream, special events, bands and more! Run by Youth Advocacy Resource Development, a collaborative effort by NYS, Suffolk County, Southampton and East Hampton Towns, Sag Harbor Village, North Haven Village, and the Sag Harbor School District.
