The historic port of Sag Harbor has many inviting characteristics which make it an idea vacation spot, for a weekend, a week, or even longer. But even if you only have a day to spare, Sag Harbor is within your reach - just take a leisurely drive, ride one of several passenger boats from Connecticut, or come with your favorite Motor coach Tour.
Located only a short drive from bay and ocean beaches, some of Long Island's most beautiful wineries, Montauk's whale watching cruises and deeps fishing excursions, visitors to Sag Harbor will never be at a loss for something interesting to do. Depending on the time of year that you visit, there are also a number of annual events and festivals to satisfy any taste, such as Arts & Crafts shows, Carnivals, Parades, Summer Evening Concerts, the world class Hampton Classic Horse Show, our HarborFest Weekend, and activities planned around the Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, and Christmas holidays.
The Village of Sag Harbor is home to two hotels, as well as a number of Bed & Breakfasts and Guest Houses. Together with our lodging members in surrounding Noyac, North Haven and Bridgehampton, this allows for hundreds of possible accommodations. Our historic streets are lined with fine restaurants, antique stores, art galleries, and an eclectic variety of interesting shops.
Sag Harbor boasts its own live theater, The Bay Street Theatre, which offers first class productions throughout the year. This intimate 300 seat, not-for-profit professional theater has been called "One of the country's pre-eminent regional theatres" (CBS Sunday Morning), and features Mainstage Plays, as well as Series of Cabaret, Concerts, Chamber Music, Play Readings, Special Events, and Children's Programs.
