Planning your wedding, or any special party for that matter, can be a daunting task. There are so many areas to cover - so many people to contact. In fact when putting together a list of categories necessary to plan a wedding reception, we found ourselves listing nearly every category of merchant that we have in our Chamber!

You need a place to hold the event, someone to supply the food and beverages, accessories and decorations like flowers and party favors, entertainment for your guests, and someone to memorialize the party for you on film. And how will your guests get here? Where will they stay? Travel and lodging arrangements are just as important for your guests as they are for the bride and groom.

Below is a list of areas to consider when planning your special day - some you might have not even thought about.

Accommodations - Our local Hotels, Inns, Motels and Bed & Breakfast establishments are eager to supply lodging for you and your guests. Ask about package rates for larger groups.
Awnings - Weather is an area that none of us can control. In bright sun or pouring rain, an awning can assure that you and your guests will be protected during an outdoor party.
Beauty/Day Spa - Pamper and prepare the members of your bridal party with facials, manicures, massages, and the many other services that only a Day Spa can offer.
Caterers - Maybe your banquet hall doesn't supply food and beverages, or perhaps you're planning to be married at a private home, on the beach, or another scenic location. Let a professional caterer create a gastonomic menu that your guests will long remember!
Church or Synagogue - Hold your wedding ceremony in the house of worship of your choice, or arrange for your clergyman to preside where you wish.

Hair Care - Help your wedding party look their best with professional hair care.
Limousines & Transportation - Choose a limo service to bring the bride, groom, and wedding party safely to the church, and to the reception.

Marriage Licenses and Justices of the Peace

A Marriage License is a State license, and therefore can be obtained at the Clerk's office of any Village or Town Hall. There you can also arrange for a local Justice of the Peace, or in some cases the Village or Town Clerk, or the local Mayor to perform the actual marriage ceremony in lieu of the clergy of your choice.
