Santa's Visit & Holiday Light-Up,  By popular demand, Santa's Visit and Holiday Tree-Lighting and Village Light-up will be on the same evening!
  • 4pm - Santa Arrives by Fire Truck - Cheer on the Man in Red as he rides down Main Street on a Fire Truck to his destination at the Bay Street Theatre on Long Wharf!
  • 4pm-5:30pm - Santa's Visit, Photos & Fun!- Visit with Santa and tell him how good you've been this year!  He'll be sure to listen as you tell him what you'd like for Christmas, while you enjoy Music, Entertainment and Refreshments, courtesy of his many Elves!  Get your photo taken with Santa, so you can prove to your friends that you really met him!
  • 5:30pm - Light-Up at the Windmill on Long Wharf - gather on the Wharf and join us to officially light up the Village's Holiday Lighting.  See our beautiful Christmas Trees, our Lit Snowflake Banner display across Main Street provided by the Chamber, and the lit Garlands and Wreaths on Village lamp posts, provided by the L.V.I.S.
  • 6:00 - Twilight Guided Art Tour, Visit Sag Harbor's many wonderful art galleries: Romany Kramoris Gallery, Tulla Booth Gallery, Grenning Gallery, Karin Sanders Fine Art Gallery, Gallery Merz, , The Gallery/Rebecca Cooper, and Winter Tree Gallery.  Holiday goodies will be served at all galleries!  Meet at the Windmill directly after the Tree Lighting ceremony.

Holiday Concert, by the Sag Harbor Community Band, joined by the Sweet Adelines Long Island Sound Chorus!  At the Old Whalers Church, 44 Union Street, Sag Harbor, starting at 8pm. ARF 2009 Benefit Calendars are on sale at area stores with all proceeds to benefit the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons.  Calendars are being sold for $25 each, and are available at ARF's Adoption Center on Industrial Road in Wainscott, their Thrift Shop on Main Street in Water Mill, and in Sag Harbor at the BookHampton, Romany Kramoris Gallery and Sylvester & CO all on Main Street.  For more information, please call 537-0400, or visit www.arfhamptons.org
Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale
, Sponsored by the Sag Harbor Lions Club, through December 24th, from 10am-6pm.  At the Windmill on Long Wharf.  725-0054. 


Coat Drive, sponsored by the Sag Harbor "Old Whalers" Church.  Bring your unwanted coats and jackets to the Church located at 44 Union Street, Sag Harbor.  Items left in the basket outside the Church Office will promptly be brought inside within an hour of drop-off.  Please use the office/side entrance.  For more information, call 725-0894. 

Community Care Giving Tree Program, to benefit Sag Harbor area families and children who are in need of assistance.  Look in your local Sag Harbor business for a Community Care Tree Display, and choose from either:
  • Donation of a Toy for a Sag Harbor Child
  • Monetary Donation to offset Heating Oil costs for a needy family, or
  • Monetary Donation to the Sag Harbor Food Pantry
For a list of participating stores displaying the Community Care Tree, please call Lilliam Woudsma from the Sag Harbor Food Pantry at 329-2151 or Dr. John Gangemi from Release & Balance Chiropractic at 725-2117.  Please be generous during the Holidays, a particularly difficult time of year for those less fortunate.

Country Lane's After-Christmas and New Year's Sales, all this week; 50% off all Christmas/Holiday items. Donate a Toy for the Holidays, a toy drive for local families in need, sponsored by the Batiste Salon, 75 Main Street in Sag Harbor, through December 17th.  Bring new, unwrapped toys too the Salon, and they will be distributed through local charities, churches, and Southampton Hospital.  For more information, please call the Salon at 725-9494.

Food Pantry Donations, for the Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry.  Please be generous to those less fortunate than you, especially during the holidays!  Non-perishable food donations are accepted at Apple Bank, Sag Harbor Village Hall, the Whaler’s Church and other Village locations. 725-0894.

Toys for Tots Drive
, Sponsored by Sag Harbor Village and the Sag Harbor Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary.  Bring toys or clothes to Village Hall, 55 Main Street, Sag Harbor, throughout the month of December. 725-0222.

Day Events
"Start Your New Year Right Trail Walk," by the North Haven Trails Association, starts at North Haven Village Hall, Ferry Road, North Haven, at 10:00am.  Bring binoculars - Refreshments will follow.  For more information call 725-4764.
Annual C.O.N.P.O.S.H. Open House, by the Community of Neighborhoods for the Preservation of Sag Harbor, from 2pm-6pm.  For more information call 725-5257.
